Designing instant card lock so members actually use it

Card lock is table stakes on paper. In practice it's buried three levels deep in Settings, and usage data shows it. The feature isn't missing — the path to it is.
The moment a member wants to lock a card is the moment they see a charge they don't recognize. That means the lock action belongs on the alert itself and on the transaction row, not only on a card management screen.
A toggle that silently flips leaves people unsure it worked. Change the card art, state the consequence in plain words ('New charges will be declined'), and show the timestamp. Reassurance is the product.
Members who fear they can't easily undo a lock won't use it. One tap in, one tap out, with biometric confirmation on the way back.
